Our Mission:

To provide hope by offering special support to New Jersey's Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing citizens seeking alcoholism and drug addiction services.

The mission of Signs of Sobriety, Inc. is to empower the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing population by significantly reducing the risk factors that lead to alcohol and drug misuse, to support recovery efforts of those looking to overcome the disease of alcholism/addiction; and to provide hope and guidance to those affected by their substance abuse.

We Provide:

Communication Access
to 12 Step support group meetings and additional Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs (ATOD) services, through the provision of interpreting and C.A.R.T. services, and FM loop system loans.

Supportive Educational & Social Activities
that offer a sober environment for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing persons in recovery and their family members.

Library of Resources
- printed and video media are available for loan.

Prevention information to schools and organizations serving New Jersey's Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing residents.

Consultation, Technical Assistance, and Training
to professional groups on the unique communication, cultural and social needs of people who are Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing.

Public Education & Information
about the misuse of alcohol and other drugs.

Advocacy on Behalf of Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Individuals
and others affected by alcoholism and drug addiction to assure the availability of a continuum of appropriate, quality services.
